Kevin Haaland was was the lead guitar of Skillet from  1999 until 2001. Shortly before the band began recording for their third album, Invincible, Ken Steorts left the band to be with his family, and Kevin Haaland joined the band as their new guitarist.

Early Life[]

As a child, Haaland grew up in a religious family, who moved around a lot due to his father being a construction worker who often had to travel to different locations for projects. Haaland stated that he considered Philadelphia to be the place he grew up, as his family spent about 5 or 6 years living there. After graduating from high school, Haaland and his family moved to Nashville, TN, in 1997, and in 1999, he decided to auction for Skillet,

Career[]

After being asked to join Skillet, he moved to Memphis, recording guitars on the album Alien Youth, Kevin left the band because he wanted to be in a place where he could be more creative. He now tours with Jason Castro and plays with Brooke White. During his time with Skillet, Haaland toured with the other band members and played 200 to 250 shows a year. After leaving the band, Haaland moved to Los Angeles, CA. Once there, Haaland played with a few different bands before auditioning for an Australian named Michael Lee, who gave Haaland the gig, and the band toured around for about a year as a band called The Rising. The band did a live performance on the Sharon Osbourne Show, but were unfortunately dropped from Maverick Records, their record label, shortly afterwards.

After The Rising added some new members, they were signed to Columbia Records, but their record was never released. However, Haaland had started a session business. As of 2022, Haalnd spends his time writing songs and still playing on the guitar,

Personal Life[]

At some point, Haaland married his wife and the two had a son.
